The Black Card Company

The Black Card Company was founded by Elise and Tanya, two solopreneurs behind Afrocentric greeting card and gift brands. After frequently meeting while selling at cultural craft markets, they recognised a shared challenge: despite strong demand, diverse creators lacked visibility and a central platform where their work could be discovered and celebrated.

Built from this insight, The Black Card Company was created as a UK-based, Black-owned online marketplace showcasing greeting cards, gifts, stationery, and gift wrap designed by independent Black creators. Established in 2020, it has grown into one of the largest platforms of its kind in the UK.

The platform exists to address the lack of representation in visual arts and design by bringing together diverse creators in one accessible space. It celebrates authentic cultural expression across a wide range of artistic mediums while ensuring that representation, ownership, and community remain at the centre of every product and story shared.
